Copper Canyon, Mexico Adventure Vacation Special Overview: This trip is a rugged adventure taking in the awesome canyons of Northern Mexico. It is ideal for active travelers wanting to combine remote hiking in pristine wilderness settings and wildlife viewing opportunities with visits to local villages and towns very much off the beaten path.

Copper Canyon, Mexico Adventure Vacation Special Notes:

The Copper Canyon crossing runs for a full nine days, which includes the arrival and departure day. There will be 3 nights camping /4 days walking with one night at moderately high altitude (approximately 6,500 ft.). While very few clients will experience effects of this moderate altitude, night time temperatures often drop below freezing. Please follow the included packing list closely. Arrival transfers will be included on arrival day and we reserve the right to have clients wait up to: 30 minutes for fellow travelers. Please indicate arrival time at time of booking. We will be happy to arrange arrival transfers not on Day 1 of the trip for which there will be a $150 charge for up to 6 clients. We reserve the right to go all the way to Urique on day 2 of our journey and to stay in a rustic local accommodation (best available), in order to begin the hike the following day early to avoid the heat. We also may be using the Riverside lodge in Batopilas (on occasion) and the Sierra Hiking Lodge in Creel (Cusárare) pending availability of the Hacienda Rio Batopilas and Margaritas Plaza Mexicana. Lastly, while we have not included an extra day on the beginning of this trip, we encourage our clients to arrive one day early in order to safeguard against luggage loss / delay and or missed flights / connections. We will gladly arrange extra night’s accommodations upon request.

Wilderness first aid trained, CPR, First Aid Certified, bi-lingual guide throughout

All accommodation starting with Day 1 in El Fuerte / Chihuahua and ending on Day 9 in Chihuahua / El Fuerte

All transfers throughout starting from hotel on Day 2 and ending in the Chihuahua / El Fuerte hotel on Day 9

Arrival/departure transfers on arrival/departure days (Journey Mexico reserves the right to have pax wait for fellow clients arriving within :30 minutes of their arrival)

Camping equipment except sleeping bags

All meals as indicated in the detailed itinerary (B,L,D)
